Training for Veterinarians and Technicians
Training at Minnesota Veterinary Dental Specialists
Veterinary Dentistry is still a relatively new field. The American Veterinary Dental College™ was founded in 1989, and there are only about 258 veterinary dental specialists worldwide. Because of this, many general practitioners graduated from veterinary school before there was a dental department, and without training from a Board Certified Veterinary Dentist™. Even now, not all veterinary schools have a dentist on staff. Veterinarians graduating today often still have limited exposure to veterinary dentistry because of all of the information that they are expected to learn in just a few short years.
At Minnesota Veterinary Dental Specialists, PLLC, we are committed to teaching and learning for everyone. We provide frequent and ongoing continuing education for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, staff and receptionists. This allows all veterinarians the opportunity to provide quality basic dental care, and recognize when the need for advanced dental care is indicated. Dr. Brown regularly teaches and lectures to veterinarians locally and nationally.

Even veterinarians that feel comfortable with most dental procedures report that they have learned something when they attend one of our classes. If you are a veterinarian and have a request for a special class topic, please email Dr. Brown at dentistry@mnvds.com.
